PT. Medco Power Indonesia (MPI) is owned by Saratoga Power and Medco Energi Internasional Tbk ( MEI ),Medco Energi Internasional is the largest national listed energy company in Indonesia. Active world wide in exploration and production of Oil & Gas as well as the downstream businesses. Saratoga Capital is the largest Indonesia investment funds with ownership in Coal Mining, Power Generation, Foods, and Airlines Business.

Established in 2004, Medco Power owns and operates two gas-fired power plants in Batam: Panaran I and Panaran II, two gas fired plants in Palembang, South Sumatera : Energi Prima Elektrika and Multidaya Prima Elektrindo. The company also owns a minority share in Sengkang gas-fired power plant in South Sulawesi and acquired a long-term operations & maintenance contract for 1,320 MW Tanjung Jati B coal-fired power plant in Jepara, Central Java, has proven itself as a reliable power project developer over a short period of time.

With the current energy situation of disparity in energy reserves availability, consumption and infrastructure, Medco Power strives to fill the gap by developing other cleaner and renewable energy sources such as geothermal despite the use of gas as a cleaner energy fuel source. In 2006, the Company was awarded the development of the world's largest single geothermal contract in Sarulla, North Sumatera. Then, MPI is also appointed to work on 110 MW Ijen Geothermal Power Plant.
