Diamond Transmission Partners selected as PB for Hornsea One's transmission project

The Office of Gas and Electricity Market (Ofgem) of the UK has selected the Diamond Transmission Partners as preferred bidder to operate the  Hornsea Project One Offshore Wind Farm. 

Under the released notice from the authority, the developer has to establish the necessary arrangements to provide offshore transmission services for the Project, including having all relevant contractual, funding, regulatory and operational arrangements ready for the transfer of the transmission assets and the grant of the offshore transmission license; put in place a bilateral agreement with the holder of a co-ordination license to provide transmission services for the Project; accede to the System Operator – Transmission Owner Code; and resolve any other matters which the Authority determines are necessary for relation to the Project.

The Diamond Transmission Partners is a joint venture of Japan’s Mitsubishi Corp and Chubu Electric Power Co Inc. 

The project involves the installation of 174 7-MW Siemens Gamesa turbines ​in a 407 km2 area within the Hornsea zone of the North Sea, located around 120 km from the east coast of England.
