Duke Energy Florida has started the commercial operation of its 74.9 MW solar photovoltaic project located in Hardee County, Florida, USA.
The Charlie Creek Solar Power Plant is constructed on about 500 acres of repurposed mining land and consists of up to 265,000 solar panels, utilizing a fixed-tilt racking system.
The project is part of the Clean Energy Connection program that enables the local customers of Duke Energy to subscribe to solar energy and receive electricity credits based on their subscription size.
