French utility Electricite de France SA (EDF) has selected the Port of Dundee as the marine hub for the development of the 450 MW Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) offshore wind project.
The port will be the assembly site of the 54 turbines of Siemens Gamesa before being installed on each of the specific locations. The wind farm will be located off the coast of Fife in south-east Scotland.
The project, currently under construction, is set to begin its operation in June 2020 with full commissioning by 2023.
