GE commissions first two pumped storage units at 1.2 GW hydro project in Anhui

Anhui Jinzhai Pumped Storage Power Co., LTD, a subsidiary of State Grid XinYuan, has selected GE Hydro Solutions to supply four new 300 MW pumped storage turbines, generator motors, and the balance of plant equipment for the 1.2 GW Anhui Jinzhai pumped storage project in Jinzhai County, Anhui Province, China.

The first two units were delivered, tested, and are currently connected to the grid.

The annual producing capacity of the project is approximately 1.4 times the annual residential electricity demand in Jinzhai. The pumped storage plant will save 89,500 tons of coal and 179,000 tons of CO2 annually.
