Mainstream installs first turbine for 158 MW Taiba N’Diaye wind project

Mainstream Renewable Power has completed the construction of the first turbine in the 158 MW Taiba N’Diaye Wind Farm located in the semi-arid Sahel plain of Senegal.

The wind facility consists of 46 units of V126-3.45 MW wind turbines by Vestas Wind Systems. Once operational, the wind farm can provide up to 450,000 MWh of energy per year serving up to two million people. 

The project is a joint venture of Lekela, 60%-owned by Actis and 40% by a group led by Mainstream.
