Sonnedix has announced that it has entered into an acquisition agreement to buy a 262 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) portfolio consisting of seven ground-mounted solar farms built across Portugal. The portfolio is now under construction or in the final stages of development.
In their first year of operation, the PV facilities are anticipated to generate roughly 415,000 MWh of clean electricity, sufficient to power over 137,000 homes while avoiding over 76,000 tons of carbon dioxide.
At present, Sonnedix has an 8 GW global capacity and a 5 GW development pipeline. This acquisition is its entry-to-market in Portugal, adding diversification to the Sonnedix portfolio and strengthening its position in Europe.
