Construction works begin at 48 MW wind project in Kazakhstan

Eni SpA and GE Renewable Energy have started the construction of a 48 MW wind project in Kazakhstan.

The wind farm, located in northwestern Aktobe Oblast, can generate up to 198 GWh of electricity per year. It is comprised of 13 units of GE’s 3.8-130 onshore wind turbines, with a hub height of 85m, 3.8 MW of power and a 130 meter rotor.

The wind park supports the country's goal to have renewable sources accounting for 50% of its electricity consumption by 2050.

Commercial operation is expected by the end of 2019.
