Eni to start building the Badamsha wind project in Kazakhstan’s Aktobe region

Eni SpA will commence the construction phase of its 48 MW Badamsha wind farm located in Kazakhstan’s Aktobe region by the fourth quarter of 2018. 

Eni took the Final Investment Decision (FID) to build, develop and operate the Badamsha plant in June 2018, after having signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with General Electric, and the Minister of Energy, Kanat Bozumbayev, to promote the development of renewables in Kazakhstan.

The construction of the project is expected to be concluded by late 2019. General Electric will supply 13 pieces of its 3.8-130 onshore wind turbines. The project is expected to produce up to 198 GWh annually upon completion.
