EDF Renewable Ireland, a renewable energy unit of EDF Group, is planning to build the 50 MW Kellystown Wind Farm project that will be located approximately 8 km north of Drogheda town in County Louth, Ireland.
The developers are currently conducting environmental studies and other technical analyses to finalize the wind farm layout and the number of turbines. The detailed environmental assessments will be included in the submission of a planning application and an Environmental Impact Assessment Report in support of the project which is targeted in late 2023.
Subject to planning permission, the wind farm is expected to be operational by 2027. A Community Benefit Fund commensurate with the size of the final project will be established to provide funding for local community initiatives and activities.
