Enel Green Power Chile, a unit of Enel Chile, has secured authorization from the National Electric Coordinator to start the commercial operation of the 160 MW Sol de Lila solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant project located in the Atacama Desert and Antofagasta Region, Chile.
The project is expected to produce up to 500 GWh of energy per year that will be supplied to the National Electric System of Chile. The solar farm is designed to supply enough power for the consumption of around 167,000 Chilean homes.
