JERA, JDSC jointly develop highly accurate system for predicting solar power generation

JERA Co., Inc. and Japan Data Science Consortium Co. Ltd. (JDSC) have launched a highly accurate solar power generation prediction system based on weather forecast data and past power generating performance.

Solar power generation, which is technologically advanced and easy to build, is a promising short-term option for growing renewable energy usage in Japan. In order to balance electricity supply and demand, reliable projections of solar power generation are needed because weather affects it.

The serverless system automates operation, monitoring, model learning, and updating, reducing operational load. JERA and JDSC will employ JDSC's advanced machine learning to power generation data to increase prediction accuracy.
