Iberdrola is set to develop two renewable energy projects on the Spanish island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands for a total estimated investment of EUR20 million (US$21.85 million).
Iberdrola Renovables Canarias SAU, a unit of Iberdrola, will develop the 13.125 MW El Vallito wind farm with a 12 MW lithium-ion battery storage system. The wind-plus-storage scheme that represents about EUR15.8 million (US$17.3 million) investment will be built in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona in the south of Tenerife.
The company is also set to build the 5.5 MW Tagoro Photovoltaic Park for an estimated investment of EUR4.3 million (US$4.69 million). It will consist of 17,280 Trina Solar TSM-345-PE15H modules of 345 Wp and INGERCON SUN 1640 TL inverters.
The government of the Canary Islands has sought comments from its stakeholders with regards to the application of Iberdrola to develop the projects.
