RWE has acquired the entirety of Western Power Offshore Developments Ltd, which is in the earliest phases of constructing the East Celtic Wind Farm project off the coast of Ireland.

The wind farm, located around 10 km off the coasts of Wexford and Waterford, will increase RWE's offshore wind developments in Ireland and contribute to the company's goal of expanding its green generation fleet internationally to 50 GW in 2030.

RWE's sponsorship of the project positions it as a major partner for the Irish Government's goal of connecting 7 GW of offshore wind generation to the Grid by 2030.
