The German Federal Network Agency has awarded RWE the contract to construct the 16.8 MW RWE Neuland 1 Solarpark at Hambach Mine in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
Approximately 37,000 solar modules will be installed at the site, which together, generate enough renewable energy to provide approximately 5,730 families annually. RWE could start implementation in the Summer of 2023 after receiving the building permit. The company will collaborate with Neuland Hambach GmbH, which is representing the interests of the six municipalities—Elsdorf, Jülich, Kerpen, Merzenich, Niederzier, and Titz—and designing regional structural transformation.
